Pithoragarh is a Himalayan town with a Municipal Board in Pithoragarh district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is the largest organised semi-urbanised to urbanised town in the hills of Uttarakhand. The town has all the facilities including an airport.
Pithoragarh has quite a number of important places of interest to attract tourists. A magnificent fort, the Pithoragarh Fort stands tall in Pithoragarh constructed by the Gurkhas in the 18th century. Located on the outskirts of the city is a cave temple known as Kapileshwar Mahadev is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Pithoragarh is located at an average elevation of 1,514 meters above sea level, Pithoragarh is a small district which was carved out of the Almora district in the state of Uttarakhand. Summers are quite pleasant with moderate climate while winters are chilly. Best time to visit Pithoragarh is from April to November excluding the monsoon season (July-August).
Best Time to Visit Hills and Valleys from March to Mid of July and from October to November. These months are pleasant and sunny days.
March to April and September to October are considered as the best time to visit Uttarakhand. The state has wonderful weather all through the year. Trekking, Paragliding and The Char Dham Yatra are the most popular activities during Summer, which is also the Peak Season in Uttarakhand.
Winter Season:- from October to December, January and February these three months are the most chilly months of winters for hills to enjoy the snow view for everyone (Especially for Honeymoon Couples or newly Married people, and For Youth ).
Spring or Summer Season:- March till June is summertime for kids, children, especially for families and for Senior Citizens.
